Year 5/6 Athletics City Champions - posted 13th Dec

Congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 Athletics Team who competed so well at yesterday's Nottingham City Athletics  Finals.  We are incredibly proud of the whole team for their dedication, attitude and sporting ability.  The team won their local heats, the semi-finals as well as the finals so go through undefeated to the County Finals in the New Year.

Art Showcase - posted 13th Dec

Thank you to all the parents who supported our Art Showcase yesterday; it was wonderful to celebrate such creativity from children across the school. The high quality work on show was produced in our art studio under the guidance of Miss Percival, our Art Specialist.  It is great to see so many children using the 'CREATIVE' learning behaviour!

Our value for December is CO-OPERATION.  In assembly, we introduced our new Southwark Value and discussed what it meant to work together and co-operate with others.  We discussed times when we have co-operated well as well as times when we could have co-operated better.

Handball City Champions! - posted 8th Dec

Congratulations to our handball team who won every match on their way to becoming Nottingham City champions! Southwark edged a very close match in the final against Whitemoor! Behaviour and sportsmanship were outstanding - well done to all involved!

Year 3 visit Creswell Crags - posted 6th Dec

Last week, Year 3 visited Creswell Crags as part of their history topic on the Stone Age. The children built Stone Age shelters, learnt about hunting skills and explored the caves, learning about how these were used for shelter by Stone Age communities.

Spark Sensory visit Nursery - posted 6th Dec

Nursery enjoyed a fabulous visit from Spark Sensory on Friday. Our youngest children here at Southwark were immersed in a wide range of sensory stimulating activities inside the exciting inflatable dome. This was a fantastic way to explore their topic 'Is it shiny?'

Sport For All Festival at Harvey Hadden - posted 17th Nov

Well done to our fantastic children who represented Team Southwark so well at yesterday's sports festival at Harvey Hadden Stadium.  Children took part in a range of exciting sporting events including handball, curling and athletics.  Southwark were joined by many other schools from around Nottingham City which was extremely exciting for us all.  Southwark were awarded two bronze medals and everybody received a certificate for doing so well.
