Sport For All Festival at Harvey Hadden - posted 17th Nov

Well done to our fantastic children who represented Team Southwark so well at yesterday's sports festival at Harvey Hadden Stadium.  Children took part in a range of exciting sporting events including handball, curling and athletics.  Southwark were joined by many other schools from around Nottingham City which was extremely exciting for us all.  Southwark were awarded two bronze medals and everybody received a certificate for doing so well.

Today brings us to the end of Anti-Bullying week at Southwark.  Throughout the week, lessons and assemblies have revolved around the theme 'All Different, All Equal'.  Children have discussed what it means to be different and how it is important to celebrate these differences and treat everybody equally.

Today, we reflected on the courage and bravery of the people who laid down their lives for us in WWI, WWII, as well as more recent conflicts so that we may live in peace.  Children across the whole school discussed what Armistice Day means and why it is important to remember its significance.

Sharewear Partnership - posted 3rd Nov

We are pleased to be working closely with the fantastic charity, Sharewear, this year.  Sharewear is a self-funded charity based in Nottingham who provide emergency clothing, shoes and bedding to people in Nottingham currently in crisis. They also have recently donated much needed clothing to survivors of the Grenfell Tower tragedy in London as well as struggling families in Dominica, in the Caribbean, as they come to terms with the recent hurricane disaster.

Year 6 London Trip - posted 2nd Nov

Yesterday, our Year 6 children visited The British Museum in London.  The children explored the Ancient Egyptian artifacts before heading out into London for a sightseeing tour of a lifetime! We were so impressed with the maturity, behaviour and conduct of all the children.  Believe it or not, her majesty The Queen paid us a visit as she drove past us in her car!
