END OF TERM
As you may have heard in the news, the Department for Education announced yesterday that schools can use Friday 18th December as an INSET day, even when they had not previously planned to do so, in order to minimise the burden of track and trace falling on schools over the Christmas period.
As a school we recognise the lateness of this announcement and how it would put an unnecessary strain on our families at what is already a busy time of the year.
Therefore, I am pleased to announce that we will remain fully open to pupils (unless pupils are specifically asked to isolate) until the end of term. School will close at the end of the day on Friday, 18th December and will reopen to pupils on Tuesday, 5th January 2021. Children are expected in school until the end of term - we realise that their education has been disrupted enough in 2020.
Please read the attached letter carefully as it includes some really important information about track and trace and what is expected of schools in the event of a child testing positive in the holidays if they developed symptoms within 48 hours of them being in school.
I will send out further information about this later in the week and remind you next week as well.
If you have any individual questions, please direct them to the school office, your child's Hub Assistant Head or myself.
Thanks for your support.
