Online Safety: Back to School Safety Tips

ONLINE SAFETY GUIDE - BACK TO SCHOOL

It’s September - the month when autumn officially starts and we all begin a new school year.

A new year means new friends to make and lots of new things to learn. If you have a tablet, phone or console at home, it may mean exciting new opportunities online.

Please remember that children's personal phones and tablets are not allowed in school. If your child is in Year 5 or 6 and you feel that they require a phone for safety reasons as they walk to school on their own, please chat with Mr Ince who will decide whether we feel this is required. You will need to sign a consent form and the device will be locked away during the school day. Please understand that this is in exceptional circumstances only.

Here are some top tips to ensure that – whatever you choose to do online at home – you can do it safely.

In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of tips such as how to spot fake news, reporting something offensive online and how to deal with bullies.

Your child will have already had their first online safety sessions in school and signed up to the school's computing user agreement.

Why not visit our online safety page on our school website for more information on staying safe and secure online:
