Parent/Carer Meetings

Good afternoon, everyone.

We have had an extremely successful start to the spring term. This half term has flown by and we have so much which we would like to share with you about your child's progress in school.

WHEN ARE PARENT CARER MEETINGS?
To enable both parents/carers and teachers to be as flexible as possible, we will stagger meetings over a two week period. (February 21st - March 4th). Your child's class teacher will be in contact next week to arrange a suitable day / time. Please note that there may be some times which individual teachers cannot make and so these will not be available for you to meet at these times.

ARE MEETINGS FACE TO FACE OR ON THE TELEPHONE?
This will very much depend on the changing Covid-19 situation. However, we want to give parents/carers the option of coming into school and having face to face meetings as we appreciate that this is so important for many of you. However, we do appreciate that some you will not want to do this. Therefore, we are giving you the choice of having a meeting over the phone or a face-to-face meeting in school. Please let your child's teacher know what option you would prefer.

IF MY MEETING IS IN SCHOOL, WHAT STEPS ARE SCHOOL TAKING TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE?
We ask that parents use hand sanitiser upon entry to the classroom. The desks will be arranged to allow social distancing. We will wipe the tables with disinfectant between meetings. Parents who are waiting for meetings will be asked to wait outside rather than congregate in the hub areas. The room will be well ventilated so please bring a coat to be prepared. Staggering the meetings over two weeks will also reduce the numbers of parents in school at one time to keep the risk of Covid-19 transmission as low as possible.

WHAT WILL THE MEETING LOOK LIKE?
Meetings will last for 5 minutes. Your child's class teacher will update you on your child's progress in school, their areas of strength as well as areas for further development. They will inform you about any other important information including attendance, behaviour, uniform etc. depending on whether it applies to your child. You will also be able to raise questions of your own as well. If you wish to discuss anything for longer than this period, you can arrange this at another time.

WHAT NEXT?
Your child's class teacher will be in contact this week to arrange a suitable time for your meeting between February 21st - March 4th.

Any questions, please speak with your child's class teacher or your child's Assistant Head Teacher.

Thank you.

Mr Skirton
