Southwark News Update

Good afternoon, everyone.

With another fantastic week of learning behind us, we are racing through the spring term. Please read a few important reminders below:

Attendance is still an issue for the school. Please remember that it is mandatory that your child is in school unless they are too unwell to be in or they are showing Covid-19 symptoms. Please make sure that you try to book medical appointments outside of school time.

We had 79 late arrivals at school this week. This is too many and takes staff away from teaching and supporting learning of other when children who are late are taken to their classrooms. Please make sure that you arrive in school, on time every day. It is so disruptive to your child's education if they are regularly late into school. I am in contact with all parents of children who are late and will be monitoring this very closely over the spring term.

Thank you to everyone who is in the habit of reading at least 3 times a week. It is so important that this continues as reading is the key to children's academic progress and success. Your support with this will have a huge benefit on your child's education. Also, you need to sign the reading record 3x a week to be in with a chance of winning our prizes!

Please make sure that you are parking respectfully. Please do not park on the yellow lines outside the front of school and make sure that you do not block paths when parking. Please do not park in designated disabled parking spaces in the school car park unless you hold a blue badge.

Please do not ride these to school with your children. It is incredibly dangerous. They are not to be used on the school side. Unless it is an official Nottingham City approved electric scooter, it is illegal to ride these on public roads or paths.

Please make sure that your child is wearing smart school uniform. Jewellery and earrings are not allowed in school. More information can be found here:

Please be reminded that we expect our children and parents/carers to act in a courteous and respectful manner whilst on the school site as well as the surrounding area. Please ensure that you are respectful of others as you make your way to school and also on the way home.

Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend!
