Parent & Carer Guide | Latest News | Southwark PTA
Good afternoon everyone,
Southwark are interested in working alongside families to create a PTA (parent/teacher association). You might also have heard this being called a 'friends of the school association'.
A PTA is a way to bring together parents, teachers and the local community; raising funds to provide extracurricular activities or equipment which enhance your children’s educational experience. We are so lucky here at Southwark to have so many engaged and supportive families and now seems like the right time to tap-in to the talents and skills of our parents. If you think you might be interested in becoming involved in our school community through a PTA we would be thrilled to hear from you. We are especially keen to invite parents/carers who have experience of managing budgets and/or fundraising to volunteer.
It is important to us that school is diversely represented right the way from EYFS up to Key Stage 2. The first stage is for you to register your interest with us at school so we can gauge how many parents are keen to support this project.
You can do this by speaking to your child's class teacher who will pass on your details or by emailing admin@southwarkprimary.net . We can also answer any initial questions you might have. The date to register your interest by is Monday 11th October.
We know how much you care about Southwark and we thank you in advance for your support and enthusiasm. This is a really exciting venture and a first for us here at Southwark. We can't wait to get started!
Best wishes
Mrs Colegate and Mr Mapplebeck
