Year 5 started their new Project 'Sow, Grow, Farm' with a trip to the local allotments at Bulwell Forest Gardens. They had a great time pond dipping and learning about pond ecology, investigating the importance of worms in our ecosystem and making plant pots using recyclable materials.
Bulwell Forest Garden is a green space for the local community to come together through growing, playing, socialising, cooking, and caring for the land.
They provide a wide range of gardening activities, centering around communal food growing, the creation of habitats for wildlife and environmental play for families. They host regular family activity days, short courses on growing your own produce, in addition to offering opportunities for volunteering.
